Quatro

I can't believe that the 4th Quarter will soon come to an end. The learnings that I have gained this quarter have truly had an impact on me. The activities and lessons given to us were engaging and fun, especially in our ICT subject, where we learned about the types of networks such as LAN, MAN, WAN, and more. But do you know which activity I really enjoyed? Creating blogs, of course, as I was able to share my opinions on different topics given to us by Mrs. Vera Cruz.

One main problem that I have encountered this quarter is time management. I struggled to maintain an organized schedule for completing assignments given by our teachers, perhaps due to my overconfidence in my ability to rush through them, especially since school starts at 2 in the afternoon. This mindset caused me to procrastinate on tasks and made it difficult to focus on one subject at a time, as I was constantly thinking about what needed to be done next. To address this challenge, I have started setting specific times to complete tasks and ensure that I finish them as scheduled to avoid procrastination. Additionally, I prioritize which subjects to tackle first to ensure timely completion.

Moving on, I will apply the lessons learned this quarter to continue improving for my betterment. Despite the challenges faced in this fourth quarter, I'm proud to have surpassed them and learned from them.

Destiny Awaits

When someone asks me what I want to become in the future, I always proudly say ''Doctor'' because I'm deeply interested in the medical profession. I think this passion of mine started back when I was still in elementary school because every time we filled out a form about our future aspirations, I always wrote ''Doctor''. But you know what's funny? I'm not yet sure what type of doctor I want to become. I'm still in the process of choosing, maybe because I'm only in 10th grade, so I know I have time to decide my career path in the future.

A decade from now, I can see myself as a student studying in a medical school. I didn't know it would take a lot of years to become a doctor, but I promise myself that I will do it for my future. As I continue to move forward on this chosen path of mine, I know that it will be hard. However, with great determination, I know that I can make it. I have promised myself that I will become a successful doctor someday, happily pursuing my career to help others in times of need.

The future is truly hard to foresee; no one will be able to know what they will become in the future or if their future will align with their desires. However, I believe that even though I don't have the ability to see the future, I know that I will do my best to achieve my career goals because I have a burning passion within me.

The Guiding Light For Us

This Mother's Day, I want to celebrate the person who has been one of my greatest inspirations, urging me to strive harder in my studies. She holds a special place in my heart, always ready to support me in whatever path I choose in life. She is truly the ''Ilaw ng Tahanan,'' doing her best to provide for our needs. She is my everything, and I dedicate all my efforts to honoring the sacrifices she has made for us. Just from my description, I know how fortunate I am to have her as my mother.

When Mother's Day approaches, my mother would always tell us to go to mass first as a family and after the mass, we would go to a fast food chain. As my mother always told us that we should put God first before other things, she makes sure that our connection to God will be developed as we grow older, which I agree with. ''Simple yet memorable''. This is the way we celebrate this special occasion as a family.

Celebrating Mother's Day for me is celebrating the person behind who I am today. She is the reason why I continue to strive for my betterment. Seeing her smiles everyday makes me happy. Even though she may raise her voice at us sometimes, I know it's only to help us learn and reflect on our actions. The struggles of being a mother are very hard; from never-ending household chores, it will never be easy for them. So, we must show our love to them even if it's not the specific date we are celebrating Mother's Day because I believe that they deserve all the love.

Change Starts Within Us

Change does not necessarily mean something terrible, especially if it's for the better. Changing the world is a challenging and nearly impossible task, that's for sure, but it will be easier if we approach it with heart and inspiration. Change starts within us, and through our own actions, we can achieve it.

We can begin to change our world within our community by volunteering and participating in various activities aimed at protecting our environment. This effort alone is significant and certainly one of the many ways to achieve change in our world. Additionally, raising awareness, such as promoting advocacies, is also essential if we aim to bring about change.

Remember that it's us who will take the first step in order for change to be attained, it is through our unique ways and actions. Nothing is impossible if all of us work together to attain change for our world.

Valor Remembered

Araw ng Kagitingan is a day when we celebrate and honor the Filipino and American soldiers who fought against the Japanese invasion in World War II. Despite being outnumbered by their opponents, they didn't hesitate to fight for our freedom. As a result, many lives were lost during the war. The battle occurred in Bataan on April 9, 1942.

During the battle between Filipino-American allies and Japanese soldiers, it is evident that the Japanese soldiers outnumbered the Filipino and American soldiers. This presented one of the many challenges faced by the allied forces during the war. They also lacked weapons and essential resources such as food. However, do you know what really amazed me? It's the fact that our soldiers did their best to protect our country, which is truly one of a kind and deserving of a big salute for their bravery and courage during the war. Sadly, many of our fellow soldiers were forced to surrender during that time, resulting in their capture by the Japanese soldiers. They were then forced to walk many miles without being given food or water during the death march. It's cruel, isn't it?

As I continue to reflect on the terrible experiences that our fellow soldiers endured during the war, I've come to appreciate why celebrating Araw ng Kagitingan is significant for us Filipinos. It is through the sacrifices of these soldiers that we attained freedom, so celebrating this day also means honoring their contributions to our country.

CBR: A Collaborative Journey on Labor and Employment

Community-Based Research is a method for us to gather diverse information and address issues related to labor and employment in our community of Vigan. As researchers, we were tasked with interviewing various individuals in our community who are involved in businesses and occupations. When Mrs. Vera Cruz grouped us based on our residences, I initially felt confused, as it was the first time we would be working in groups. Are you excited to witness our journey through our community-based research? Without further ado, let's get right into it:

Firstly, of course, we would not have been able to create this CBR of ours if there had been no brainstorming within our group. We gathered at the library to share our ideas with one another on how we plan to start our research. We felt a sense of teamwork as each one of us shared our thoughts regarding our outline on the said project. After the brainstorming, we then decided on what specific part of the research to work on individually so that it will be much more faster to accomplish the given task.

Secondly, as days passed, we could already feel the pressure of finishing our research since we were only given limited time to accomplish it. Additionally, our pending activities further hindered our ability to focus on our Community-Based Research. However, with great teamwork, we managed to finish our task on time. My fellow researchers conducted interviews with various individuals in our community, such as Empanada vendors, Kalesa drivers, and ice cream vendors. We were thankful for their active participation, as without it, we would not have been able to complete our research paper and gather necessary information.

Thirdly, as soon as they finished interviewing, I immediately started my part in our research paper, which includes recommendations and a bibliography. For our recommendations, I based them on the answers given by the people interviewed by my fellow researchers, focusing on how to address the issues they faced. I didn't face any struggles in completing my part, as I was confident in doing it.

Lastly, as of this moment, we are now creating our individual web designs, and seeing our group work together as one forms a big smile on my face. When one of our groupmates is struggling in completing his or her part, we would approach him or her for guidance.

To sum it up, creating our Community-Based Research was exhausting yet filled of excitement. In the end, we managed to finish it on time, which was a significant accomplishment. One important lesson I gained from this journey is the value of teamwork; it enabled us to support each other in times of need. Seeing our completed research paper is fulfilling as it symbolizes our collective effort as a group.

Tres

Time flies so fast I couldn't believe that the 3rd Quarter has already come to an end. Looking back at the things I've experienced this quarter, I can say that it was a quarter yet again full of surprises. I really enjoyed the activities given to us, especially in our ICT subject as we were able to apply our learnings on how to create different lists through using the appropriate tags. In addition to that, making blogs excites me the most. It gives me the chance to communicate my feelings to certain topics given to us.

The main problem that I have encountered this quarter is yet again academic pressure. I always ask myself ''How will I live up to the expectations of other people in me?'', ''How will  I perform better this quarter?''. I have always pressured myself hoping that I can still push myself more to strive harder when it comes to my academics. In overcoming this problem, I always remind myself to not give in to pressure and just give my best in everything I do.

Moving on, I will use my learnings this quarter to consistently improve for my betterment and continue exploring new things. Despite the obstacles I've faced this quarter, I was able to enjoy it to the fullest as there were activities that captured my interest.
